If your team in the Netherlands needs to add engineers without opening a new local hiring process, staff augmentation from Poland is one option worth comparing. You keep the engineers in your own team and processes, and a provider handles sourcing and the employment or contracting side. This guide describes seven IT staff augmentation providers in Poland that Dutch companies can consider, what each one offers and what to check before you sign.
Last updated: November 2, 2026.
Publisher's note: this guide is published by ITDS, one of the companies described. Providers appear in alphabetical order, using one template. The order is not a ranking.
What staff augmentation from Poland means for a Dutch team
Staff augmentation means adding external engineers to a team you manage. They join your stand-ups, work in your repositories and take direction from your leads. The provider finds the engineers and holds the employment or contractor relationship with them.
Poland and the European part of the Netherlands use the same time zone, CET in winter and CEST in summer. That makes daytime collaboration straightforward, but it does not guarantee identical working hours, so agree on core hours in the contract. Both countries are in the EU, which means contracts and data protection start from the same legal framework. It does not make an arrangement compliant on its own.
How we compare IT staff augmentation providers in Poland
For each provider we separate three things that are easy to mix up:
- Delivery in Poland: where the provider says its engineers and offices are.
- Presence in the Netherlands: an office, a group company or a local partner.
- Dutch client references: projects for Dutch clients that we could find in public sources.
We also note each provider's services and the strengths it describes. Serving Western European clients is not the same as proven work for Dutch companies, so we only mention Dutch references where we found them. If we did not find a public reference, that does not mean the provider has no Dutch clients. Ask each provider for references directly.
The profiles are based on each provider's website and public profiles, linked in the text, and checked on the date above. Statements such as speed, retention or headcount are the providers' own claims unless we say otherwise.

DevsData
When to consider it: when you want a recruitment-led partner that can also staff or deliver a software project.
Evidence: according to its website, DevsData offers tech recruitment, IT staffing and software development, and says it has worked with more than 100 clients.
Delivery and presence: headquartered in Warsaw. Its Amsterdam page lists a local partner in Amsterdam rather than its own office.
What to clarify: which entity signs your contract, and whether the engineer is employed by DevsData, a partner or another subcontractor.
ITDS
When to consider it: when you need specialists for a regulated environment, especially finance, banking or insurance, and want a choice of Poland or Portugal.
Evidence: ITDS has two distinct parts. ITDS Netherlands is a consultancy in Amsterdam that has served Dutch and international banks, insurers and pension funds since 1998. Separately, ITDS Poland and ITDS Portugal supply engineers through ITDS Nearshore: staff and team augmentation, recruitment as a service, project delivery and maintenance, and Build-Operate-Transfer. ITDS's Polish website states that more than 600 IT specialists work on its projects. ITDS Nearshore states that it sends two vetted candidates within 48 hours and that engineers are productive in about two weeks. These are ITDS's own claims, not independently measured results.
Published case studies: leasing system support for CreditPlus, financial integration for Sofinco and lending workflows for Q2. None of these is a Dutch client.
Delivery and presence: Warsaw and Wrocław in Poland, Lisbon and Porto in Portugal, and ITDS Netherlands in Amsterdam. ITDS is part of House of HR.
What to clarify: which delivery country fits your stack and hours, who handles replacements, and which data protection and access terms ITDS will sign for your setup.
j-labs
When to consider it: when you need enterprise Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, .NET, QA or mobile specialists.
Evidence: according to its website, j-labs offers IT staff augmentation, team augmentation and agile project outsourcing for more than 75 clients, including Sinch and Schenker.
Delivery and presence: headquartered in Kraków.
What to clarify: how many senior engineers in your stack are available now, and whether you will manage the team or j-labs will.
MOTIFE
When to consider it: when you want recruitment or staff augmentation, and may later set up your own team or entity in Poland.
Evidence: according to its Clutch profile, MOTIFE is a Kraków recruitment and consulting company. It offers IT recruitment and staff augmentation, and also employer of record, entity setup and operations support for companies building teams in Poland.
Delivery and presence: headquartered in Kraków.
What to clarify: who employs the engineers in each model, and what it would cost to move them to your own entity later.

Staff augmentation, dedicated team or managed team?
These terms are often used loosely, so check what each provider means.
In staff augmentation, engineers join your team and your managers direct their work. You are responsible for the results.
A dedicated team works only for you. Depending on the contract, you may still manage it, or a lead on the provider's side may run it day to day.
A managed team is run by the provider, which takes on responsibility for agreed outcomes or service levels. Our comparison of staff augmentation and managed teams covers the difference in more detail.
How an engagement usually starts
- You send a brief: stack, seniority, domain, core hours and start date.
- The provider sends profiles, and you interview the engineers who would actually join.
- You agree a services contract and, depending on how personal data will be processed, data protection terms.
- Access is set up in your environment, ideally with least-privilege permissions.
- The engineer joins your tools, ceremonies and codebase.
Whether you need a data processing agreement depends on the actual roles of the parties and on how the engineers will process personal data. Your privacy officer or lawyer should decide. This is general information, not legal advice.
Criteria for choosing an IT staff augmentation provider
- Skills: proof of experience in your stack and domain, not only a list of technologies.
- References: clients you can contact, ideally with a similar engagement model.
- Onboarding: who prepares access, equipment and security training, and how long that usually takes.
- Replacements: how quickly and on what terms an engineer is replaced if they leave or are not a fit.
- Subcontractors: whether the provider uses them, and whether it will disclose them.
- Intellectual property: who owns the code and work products from day one.
- Notice period: how quickly you can scale the team up or down.
- Full cost: what the rate includes. Check recruitment, payroll or contractor fees, equipment, software licenses, travel, account management and any conversion fee if you hire the engineer later. Do not assume every rate covers the same items.

IT staff augmentation providers in Poland: FAQ
Which IT staff augmentation providers in Poland can Dutch companies consider?
This guide covers DevsData, ITDS, j-labs, MOTIFE, Scalo, STX Next and Winged IT. DevsData lists a local partner in Amsterdam, and ITDS has a group consultancy in Amsterdam. Ask every provider for Dutch references relevant to your engagement.
Are Poland and the Netherlands in the same time zone?
Yes. Both use CET in winter and CEST in summer. Working hours still depend on the provider and the contract, so agree on core hours.
How quickly can a Polish provider add an engineer to my team?
It depends on the role and the provider. Ask each one for its typical time to first profiles and to a confirmed start date for your specific role, and how it measures that.
Do I need a data processing agreement with a staff augmentation provider?
It depends on the roles of the parties and how personal data will be processed. Your privacy officer or lawyer should confirm what your setup needs.
What should a quote from a staff augmentation provider include?
At minimum: the rate and its unit (hourly or monthly), what it covers, the notice period, replacement terms, and any fee if you later hire the engineer directly. Without these, two quotes are not comparable.
How to choose a provider
Start with the role and the engagement model you want. Then send the same brief to two or three providers, ask each for relevant references, and compare the engineers they propose and the full terms of the offer, not only the rate.
